RP Attends the 2012 IPO Education Foundation Awards Dinner

Washington, DC  |  December 2012 –  RatnerPrestia recently hosted a private reception honoring the IPO Education Foundation’s 39th Inventor of the Year, Alex Kipman.  The inventor of Microsoft’s Kinect for Xbox 360, Mr. Kipman is a 2001 graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology’s (RIT) software engineering program.  The event was hosted by RatnerPrestia Shareholder, fellow RIT alumnus and Trustee, Brian P. O'Shaughnessy.  The event was also attended by RIT’s Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, Lisa Cauda, Dean of RIT’s Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences, Dr. Andrew Sears, as well as many of Mr. Kipman’s fellow alumni.  The reception was held at RatnerPrestia’s Washington, DC office on Sunday, December 9, 2012. The following evening, the IPO Education Foundation held its annual Awards Dinner at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC, at which Mr. Kipman was formally recognized for his accomplishments.  RatnerPrestia was pleased to be counted among the sponsors of the IPO Education Foundation Awards Dinner.  In addition to Mr. O’Shaughnessy, RatnerPrestia was also represented by Founder, Paul F. The IPO Education Foundation Awards Dinner also recognized the Hon. James F. Holderman, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  Judge Holderman was presented with the Foundations 5th Distinguished IP Professional Award, recognizing his outstanding achievements in developing and shaping the law pertaining to innovation, creativity, and intellectual property (IP) rights.
