RP Shareholder Brian P. O’Shaughnessy Will be a Panelist at the Upcoming ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit

O’Shaughnessy will be a panelist at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Fourth Annual ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit to be held February 25-27, 2013, in Washington, DC.  Mr. O’Shaughnessy will participate in a panel discussion entitled: “Get Smart about IP: Pros, Cons and Costs of Your Patent Strategy.  The panel will address best practices in protecting intellectual assets, and particularly IP portfolio management, and the difference between patentability and patent infringement or Freedom To Operate.  The panel will include diverse sophisticated views from senior level executives engaged in IP protection, Research and Development, and Finance from some of America’s most notable innovation-oriented companies.  This DOE event will bring together over 2500 attendees including representatives from government laboratories and agencies, academic research centers, and diverse enterprises from the private sector.
Mr. O'Shaughnessy is a longstanding and active member of the Licensing Executives Society (USA & Canada), Inc., serving on its Board of Trustees since 2007, currently as Regional Vice President – U.S.A. He has also served LES USA & Canada as editor, author and faculty member for its curriculum-based Professional Development Series. Mr. O'Shaughnessy also serves LES USA & Canada, as an international delegate to its parent organization, LES International. Mr. O'Shaughnessy appeared in the IAM 250: The World's Leading Patent and Technology Licensing Lawyers (2010, 2011), and in the IAM 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners (2012).
