Mr. George served as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office from 1978 to 1990, where he examined applications in the telecommunication arts, including data and video communications. After working at the Patent Office, Mr. George rose to partner at an intellectual property boutique, and then in 1998 he joined a major general practice firm where he focused on patent prosecution and counseling for fifteen years.
During his career in private practice, Mr. George has led the preparation and prosecution of thousands of patent applications. He has also provided numerous opinions of counsel, and handled contested proceedings before the Patent Office.
Mr. George’s technical experience encompasses a variety of high technology areas, including wireless and landline digital networks, protocols and services, free-space and fiber based optical communications, video encoding and transport protocols. He has also worked with networks for video distribution and access to the Internet, systems for voice telephone service over the Internet, telephone networks and service features, business methods implemented using computers and networks, mail processing equipment, photocopiers, facsimile machines, lighting devices and networked/intelligent lighting systems, optical electrical transducers, and microwave heating.
