Mr. Koopman's practice encompasses all aspects of Intellectual Property protection and enforcement, with a focus in the Mechanical and Electrical arts.  He began his IP career with RatnerPrestia in 2008.
Mr. Koopman earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering Physics from Cornell University, along with a minor in Electrical Engineering.  Mr. Koopman’s comprehensive educational foundation helps him to assist clients in a variety of different technical fields.  At RatnerPrestia, Mr. Koopman has worked with clients as a member of the Computer Architecture, Software, and Business Methods Group; Semiconductors and Signal Processing Group; Medical Devices Group; and Mechanical and Physical Science Group.
Mr. Koopman earned his Juris Doctorate from Temple University Beasley School of Law.  At Temple, he was the Vice President of the Intellectual Property Law Society and was a member of Temple’s Intellectual Property Moot Court team.  As a member of Temple’s IP Moot Court team, Mr. Koopman competed in the Giles S. Rich Moot Court Competition.  Mr. Koopman also served as a staff writer for the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal. 
Mr. Koopman is an active member of the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association.  He is a member of RatnerPrestia's Patent, Strategy and Risk Management, Litigation, and Design Practice Areas.
