Dr. Mirza joined RatnerPrestia in 2012 after working as a Research Associate in the Applied Electromagnetics and Optics Lab at the University of Delaware. While there, he designed, built and tested hyperspectral imaging systems based on compressive sensing. Dr. Mirza also worked part-time as a Senior Engineer at Lumilant, Inc. where he played a key role in developing next generation narrowband perfect absorbers for infrared sensors.
Dr. Mirza earned his Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Delaware. During his graduate term at University of Delaware, Dr. Mirza was involved in various research projects. Some of these endeavors include the design and characterization of engineered electromagnetic materials, phase modulators and embedded antenna design based on Metamaterials. He also earned his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (with distinction) at the University of Delaware along with a minor in Mathematical Sciences.
Dr. Mirza has completed a wide variety of graduate Electrical Engineering courses. Some of these courses include opto-electronics, integrated optics, nanoelectronic device principles, electronic materials processing, theory and design of diffractive optics, advanced engineering electromagnetics, antenna theory and design, radio frequency and microwave technology.
Dr. Mirza has authored and co-authored seventeen technical conference, letter and journal papers and has also co-chaired international conference sessions.
Dr. Mirza is an active member in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), The Optical Society of America (OSA), and the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE). He is a member of RatnerPrestia's Electrical/Computer/Business Method Group.
