Nigon to Speak at 2012 PLI’s Advanced Patent Prosecution Workshop
Shareholder Kenneth N. Nigon of RatnerPrestia, will speak at the “Advanced Patent Prosecution Workshop 2012: Claim Drafting and Amendment Writing”, held in New York City on July 19 – 20 by the Practising Law Institute.

Nigon’s presentation will include techniques for preparing patent applications for electronic and computer inventions with regards to the America Invents Act and the Guidelines for Determining Compliance With 35 U.S.C. 112, as well as several recent cases. This lecture will provide useful guidelines for drafting patent specifications to support broad claims, to avoid creating specification disclaimers, and to avoid Best Mode problems. This workshop offers a unique opportunity for participants to receive hands-on drafting experience as well as individualized feedback on their claim drafting and amendment writing skills.
Nigon has 29 years of experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the computer and electronic arts. He is currently the Chair of the Patent Law Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
