RatnerPrestia Hosts 3rd Annual Intellectual Property in China Symposium
RatnerPrestia will host its third annual “Intellectual Property in China” symposium, at its Valley Forge, PA office on October 24, 2012. Attorneys and patent agents from several Chinese law firms will address an audience consisting primarily of U.S. corporate IP attorneys to discuss current developments in the IP environment in China.

Topics to be covered include: Recent Developments in Chinese IP Law, Standards-related IP Issues in China, Special Problems in Bio-Pharmaceutical IP Enforcement in China, Chinese Patent Invalidation Practice, and Chinese IP Trial & Appellate Practice. A mock Chinese patent infringement trial and a panel discussion of ethics related issues, as they are dealt with in Chinese litigation, will also be part of the program. The panel discussion will cover Chinese rules and common litigation practices in regard to licensing and admission of attorneys, conflicts of interest, confidentiality, attorney client privilege, and orders to compel attendance, testimony, or produce evidence and penalties for non-compliance.
Dr. Ling Zhong, Counsel of RatnerPrestia, will moderate the program with presentations by Wen Cao of NTD Intellectual Property Attorneys; Jay Sha of Liu, Shen & Associates; Jianzhong Li of Beijing Sanyou Intellectual Property Agency, Ltd.; Yansheng Yu of China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd.; and Lei Wu, Fan Li, and Dr. Cheng Zhang of the CCPIT Patent and Trademark Law Office.
